After the suspension of league football last week, teams returned to action this weekend in The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Trowbridge and District Football League. Before kick-off all teams observed a minute’s silence to mark the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

MELKSHAM TOWN DEVELOPMENT FC 3 HEYTESBURY FC 4
HEYTESBURY MAKE IT FIVE FROM FIVE

Heytesbury FC made it five wins from five games with a 4 – 3 win from their visit to Melksham Town Development to maintain their perfect start to The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One season.
The league leaders started the match at an impressive pace with Jake Wright opening the scoring in the first minute after an assist from Kieran Green
This spurred Melksham into life, and they hit back with two strikes in two minutes from Jake Dodge and Aaron Masson to edge the home side in front on the quarter hour mark.
The lead only lasted ten minutes as Heytesbury pushed forward and Jake Wright levelled the match again with help from Kevin Shinn.
A minute later in a topsy turvy match Jake Wright was bought down in the box, Wright himself stood up and tucked away the penalty to give Heytesbury a 3 – 2 lead and to claim his hat-trick.
In the 32nd minute Heytesbury gave themselves a little breathing space when Dan Dicks lobbed the keeper from inside the box for a 4 – 2 lead at the break.
Melksham Town Development started the second half well and only two minutes after the restart Brandon Lee-Vincent struck to reduce the arrears to one again.
Try as they might both team’s defences held firm for the rest of the match and the scoring came to a halt with Heytesbury keeping their perfect record alive.
Next weekend Heytesbury will attempt to continue their perfect record with a difficult trip to Westbury United Reserves while Melksham Town Development face Division Two high-flyers The Lodge in a Knockout Cup match.
SEEND UNITED FC 3 TROWBRIDGE TOWN RESERVES FC 3
TAYLOR LATE STRIKE EARNS TROWBRIDGE POINT


A late strike from Nick Taylor, one of two he scored against his former club, earned Trowbridge Town Reserves a point in a 3 – 3 draw against Seend United in a highly entertaining Goodings Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One match.
Max Bishop scored the other goal for Trowbridge to end Seend United’s perfect start to the season.
Jackson Crowder helped himself to a brace for Seend with Jake Sainsbury scoring the third for the home side.
Next weekend Seend will be favourites to progress into the next round of The Knockout Cup – sponsored by Chantry Digital Ltd when they travel to face Trowbridge Town Development while Trowbridge Town Reserves are in league action when they host Shrewton United Development.
SHREWTON UNITED DEVELOPMENT FC 0 THE DUKE FC 4
MOLONEY DOUBLE LEADS DUKE TO VICTORY

The Duke made it three wins from four games with a confident 4 – 0 victory from their visit to Shrewton United Development to maintain their defence of The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One title.
A Joe Moloney double and single strikes from Richie Crocker and Billal Karmouni sealed the points for The Duke.
Next weekend The Duke will be looking for win number four with a visit to Division One newcomers Bromham FC in a league match
Shrewton United Development will be looking to return to winning ways with a visit to Trowbridge Town Reserves, also in a league match.
WARMINSTER TOWN RESERVES FC 2 WESTBURY UNITED RESERVES FC 2
DRURY DOUBLE MAKES POINT FOR WARMINSTER


Joshua Drury struck late with his second goal of the match to earn Warminster Town Reserves a deserved point in a 2 – 2 draw with Westbury United Reserves in this Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One match.
Warminster took the lead through Drury before Jake Samuel levelled the match for Westbury.
Westbury United Reserves made it 2 – 1 when Adam Mercer raced into the area with a burst of pace where he was fouled by the keeper to earn his side a penalty.
Jack Sterling stepped up and confidently slotted the ball home.
With the match heading for a Westbury win Drury, who had an excellent match for Warminster earned his side their fourth point of the season with his late equaliser.
Next weekend Warminster Town Reserves are in Knockout Cup action when they host high scoring Park United from Division Two in what looks like an interesting tie.
Westbury United Reserves are in league action when they host leaders Heytesbury FC.
