Harvey Frisby on target for Semington
After beating fellow Trowbridge League side Bromham FC in the previous round to set up a meeting with Dorset Senior League outfit Tisbury United, Neil Taylor’s Semington Magpies side continued their excellent season as a 1-1 draw followed by a 5-4 penalty shoot out success saw them reach the last eight of a competition that they rarely have success in.
Tisbury fell behind in the first half to a Spencer Frisby goal on 16 minutes, who fire home from 10 yards.
Tisbury were then kept out by the outstanding Ben Fox in the Magpies goal who made several excellent saves in the first half to preserve the hosts slender lead.
The second half was again the Ben Fox show. If Tisbury managed to get through the Magpies defence, Fox was there to make the saves.
Jiorden Burrell-Mendis and Devon Newbury-Hinds had good chances to add a seconf for Magpies but failed to hit the target when they really should have scored.
With the game in added time Tisbury finally beat Fox as they managed to fashion a late equaliser, neither team could conjure up a winner so after 90 minutes the tie went to the dreaded penalty shoot out lottery where Magpies prevailed.
George York, Harvey Frisby, Spencer Frisby, Oliver Seviour scored for Magpies from the spot before keeper Fox saved Tisbury’s fifth penalty and and Harry Thorne netted the hosts fifth to seal the win.
