WHEELER NETS WINNER FOR CHAMPIONS 

After months of waiting Seend United FC final got the chance to be crowned Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, First Division champions.

Having landed the number one spot a long time ago, Andy Dyer’s side completed their league campaign with a match against Frome Collegians Reserves who are to be commended for switching what should have been their home match to The Lye, Seend for a double header and came after their Spring Cup fixture.

Having suffered a 1-0 lost in the Spring Cup encounter earlier in the afternoon, Frome Collegians were looking to avenge that defeat, but in a case of de-ja-vu, Seend conjured up another 1-0 victory.

Just like the cup game, the first half failed to produce a goal, with the winner coming in the second period, with Derek Wheeler scoring the only goal of the game.

After the match, League President, Ian Hibbard presented Seend United the Division One winner trophy and memento’s.
