5-STAR BUCKLAND STUNS SEEND  

What may have been a hangover performance from their Knockout Cup final loss against Warminster Town Reserves on Wednesday evening saw Seend United suffer a 5-1 loss away to Bradford Town Reserves which in turn meant that Frome Collegians Reserves finished top Spring Cup League table giving Collegians a bye into the semi-finals where they will face either Bradford Town Reserves of FC Devizes United.

Seend United led 1-0 at the break, courtesy of a Derek Wheeler effort.

The second period belonged to Bradford and in particular Ashton Buckland who after getting his team back on level terms went on to score a 5-timer to complete an incredible 5-1 win over the Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge League, Division One champions.


Warminster Town Reserves FC 2 FC Devizes United 4 

DEVIZES CLAIM FIRST GROUP WIN 

Apart from their 3-0 walkover from their game with Bromham FC, FC Devizes United had failed to register a victory in any of their previous five Spring Cup Group stage matches, however that change in their final match away at Warminster Town Reserves who they beat 4-2

A Devizes own goal that had seen Warminster take an early lead was cancelled out by Zac Baskerville to leave the score line at the break all square.

Josh Drury regained the lead for Warminster, but his goal was just a consolation as goals two more goals from Baskerville and a Declan McStravick effort earned Devizes a surprise win over the Knockout Cup winners who had beaten Devizes 6-0 in the last league encounter between the teams and 6-1 in their A&B Cup meeting back in January.
