TEMPORARY MANAGER WALLIS GUIDES BROMHAM TO FIRST WIN
Friday night football made a welcome return to the Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, with Melksham Town Development welcoming basement side Bromham FC to their Oakfield base.
Bromham who had failed to pick up a point from any of their previous 10 matches, three of which had been awarded turned to Sam Wallis to turn their fortunes around and with Wallis taking temporary charge from Chandler Davison he came up trumps as the villagers turned the formbook on its head as they battled to a 2-1 victory.
Bromham were probably expecting the worse when they fell behind to a Ollie Farrell goal, however with a new appetite the villagers dug deep and were back on level terms before half time, Luke Woodley levelling things up at one apiece.
The second half was a really tight affair and chances came and went at both ends before Nick Taylor grabbed what proved to be the winner for Bromham who will visit Heytesbury & Codford next Saturday looking to build on their first win of the season.

BRADFORD & FROME SHARE POINTS IN 8-GOAL THRILLER
Bradford Town Reserves FC who have seen their title dreams turn into a nightmare in recent weeks lost further ground on Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, First Division leaders after they were held to a 4-4 draw by an inform Frome Collegians Reserves side for whom the result saw them drop their first points since lost to Seend United at the start of September.
In what was an incredible opening 45 minutes, Bradford Town Reserves, thanks to goals from Otis Young, Olly Sterling and Raphi Alford opened up a 3-0 lead. Frome then woke from their Autumn slumbers as they responded with 3 goals of their own to level the score at 3-3, Tom Brown started the revival, Ben Bullus pulled a second goal back before Dan Berryman restored parity all before half time.
With the momentum with the visitors to Trowbridge Road, it was little surprise that they took the lead after the break, Aaron Barnes putting them 4-3 up, what was a surprise was that they allowed Bradford Reserves back into the contest and earn a share of the spoils, Sam Franklin netting the equaliser for the home team that saw the match finish 4-4.
Seend United FC 3 FC Devizes United 2
DEVIZES SUFFER HEARTACHE AT SEEND
With Seend United beating guests FC Devizes United 3-2 and other results going their way, Andy Dyer’s side took another step to claiming the Trowbridge & District Football League, First Division title. With an 11 point advantage over Bradford Town Reserves it should be a matter of when and not if Dyer’s men will be crowned champions, however with Bradford’s two games in hand, Seend won’t be taking anything for granted until they know they can’t be caught.
At home to FC Devizes it appeared to be business as usual for hosts who after beating their guest 5-0 on the opening day of the season must have thought a similar result was on the cards after they took a 2-0 half time lead courtesy of goals from Mark Reynolds and Tom Rooney.
FC Devizes United may have been down but they weren’t out of it as goals from Jack Brain and Archie Haggerty saw parity restored, however having got back on level terms the visitors could hold onto what would have been a well-deserved point. Rich Hudson scoring what was to be the all-important third goal for Seend whose win saw them extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches.
Warminster Town Reserves FC 2 Heytesbury & Codford FC 2
DERBY DAY BATTLE ENDS IN STALEMATE
Near neighbour’s Warminster Town Reserves and Heytesbury & Codford FC fought out a 2-2 in a match that twice saw the hosts come from behind to claim their share of the spoils.
Liam Gibbens gave Heytesbury & Codford a first half lead which was cancelled out in the second half by Reece Collyer.
A second from Liam Gibbens that took his tally for the season to 14 saw the visitors to Weymouth Street regain the lead, however were down but not out of it and they battled back to snatch a point with Jake Owen scoring the equaliser for the hosts.
