COLLEGIANS RECLAIM TOP SPOT

Frome Collegians Reserves reclaimed the number one spot at the top of the Spring Cup Group stage table, thanks to a 2-1 victory away Heytesbury & Codford FC.

Liam Gibbens who had given Heytesbury & Codford the lead then had a first half penalty saved by Collegians keeper Ryan Hancock, but Sam Spratt’s side still led the visitors to Codford by the single goal at the break.

Collegians fought back in the second period and got back on level terms through Ben Bullus and eventually secured maximum points courtesy of a Filip Borek effort.

Collegians will have to wait until Saturday afternoon to see if it will be themselves of Seend United who will claim free passage into the semi-finals, should the later avoid defeat away at Bradford Town Reserves it will be Andy Dyer’s first division champions who will get the walkover.
